Week 1: 13-4
Week 2: 10-6
Giants 1-1 @ 49ers 2-0
The Giants went in the hole 20-0 before rallying to beat the Cards. Daniel Jones had 380 yards of offense and is again, dragging this team along. Squadron is out for a few weeks. Brody Purdy still isn’t a good QB but this roster is loaded and will thump teams like the struggling Giants.
Pick: 49ers big
Titans 1-1 @ Browns 1-1
No Nick Chubb for the Browns. Desaun Watson has been a complete mess. Amari Cooper has been a great out let but this team will rely on the defense. The Titans QB position hasn’t been better but they’re coach better. Something is sticky with the Browns.
Pick: Titans close
Falcons 2-0 @ Lions 1-1
The Lions fell apart against Seattle last week and injuries are piling up. Luckily the Falcons can’t throw the football and take advantage of the secondary or lack of pass rush outside of Aiden Hutchenson. Geoff will have to navigate a difficult defense but he’s been playing well. Put your blue face masks on.
Pick: Lions
Saints 2-0 @ Packers 1-1
The Saints might be one of the best bad teams. The offense is unremarkable but Kamara is a week away and Carr isn’t awful. The offense has stifled a bad Panthers offense and poor Titans passing attack. The Packers are better coached and making reads easy for Jordan Love who looks good. Give me the home team in a coin flip.
Pick: Packers close
Broncos 0-2 @ Dolphins 2-0
Denver nearly completed the comeback against the Commanders last week but came up short. Russell Wilson doesn’t look awesome anymore. The Dolphins do.
Pick: Dolphins big
Chargers 0-2 @ Vikings 0-2
The Chargers are still underperforming and difficult to watch lose over and over again. Now looking at 0-3, they’re battling an electric offense on the road. If Ekeler is still out the offense will struggle
Pick: Vikings
Patriots 0-2 @ Jets 1-1
10 points last week against Dallas in a stomping for the Jets. The Pats hung with the Dolphins. If Mac doesn’t have to throw 40+ times again they can hang a 9-6 win on the board.
Pick: Pats ugly
Bills 1-1 @ Commanders 2-0
Allen torched the Raiders last week after the rough week 1. He has the highest completion % in the league. Playing on the road against a good Commanders defense will certainly force him into mistakes. Same Howell is looking better and the coaching staff is making things easy for him. Hard to go against Buffalo in what seems like an easy pick.
Pick: Bills
Texans 0-2 @ Jaguars 1-1
CJ is playing well and has skill guys that can cause concern for a talent-light Jags squad. The Texans can’t run the ball to help him out. Jacksonville’s offense was horrible last week and KC tried to give them the game. This could be a sneaky upset game.
Pick: Jaguars
Colts 1-1 @ Ravens 2-0
Anthony Richardson is out and Gardner Minshew is in. He should still be fine behind the offensive line. He’s known for big throws that could keep the Colts in the game. Lamar is throwing well and with Odell Beckhem out, he’ll continue to hit rookie Zay Flowers.
Pick: Ravens close
Panthers 0-2 @ Seahawks 1-1
Overtime prevented the Seahawks from falling to 0-2. The Panthers will be starting Andy Dalton because Bryce has an ankle injury. I’m not sure that Dalton’s a dropoff.
Pick: Seahawks
Bears 0-2 @ Chiefs 1-1
The entire Bears offense has been a mess. This could be a bludgeoning.
Pick: Chief’s big
Cowboys 2-0 @ @ Cardinals 0-2
Tevon Diggs with a potential ACL tear is devastating for the Cowboys. They still shouldn’t struggle against the Cards playing good enough to not tank outright, but continue to lose.
Pick: Cowboys
Steelers 1-1 @ Raiders 1-1
Raiders return Jakobi Meyers who had 2 Tds in Week 1 Jacob Jones hasn’t been good and the defense sucks. Chandler Jones is out for an extended period. The Steelers aren’t using personal well either. They were lucky to grab the reeling Browns last week. You still have to trust the better defense and competent coaching staff.
Pick: Steelers
Eagles 2-0 @ Buccaneers 2-0
It’s not out of the question that the Buc pull an upset. The defense is great and the Eagles offense has been sputtering. The birds will have to put pressure on Baker because he has healthy weapons to cause problems.
Pick: Eagles close
Rams 1-1 @ Bengals 0-2
If Joe Burrow isn’t healthy, the Bengals can’t operate. The run game has been an issue and Burrow is completing 56% of his passes and not moving around. The defense is struggling on the back end. I’m making one bold choice this week where at least nine games have clear favorites and that’s Matthew Stafford and his excellent execution on the road.
Pick: Rams close
