NFL Picks Week 6
Week 1: 12-4
Week 2: 10-6
Week 3: 10-6
Week 4: 10-6
Week 5: 7-7
Broncos 1-4 @ Chiefs 4-1
Yuck
Pick: Chiefs
Ravens 3-2 @ Titans 2-3
The Ravens really imploded against the Steelers last week. Dropped passes, a red zone pick by Lamar and a late TD given up by the defense. The Titans still look bad behind Tannehill. I still think the Ravens are an outside track Super Bowl team but jesus do they need to clean up mistakes.
Pick: Baltimore
Commanders 2-3 @ Falcons 3-2
Hello Desmond Ridder, goodbye Sam Howell. The Falcons put a game winning drive together in the 4th with Ridder at the wheel while the Commanders looked helpless in a Chicago blowout of all things. Are the birds putting an offense together?
Pick: Falcons
Vikings 1-4 @ Bears 1-4
Chicago might finally be creating easier offensive concepts for Fields. It’ll need to be easy, they’re down five running backs. The Vikings might be a dumpster fire and Justin Jefferson is out. Minnesota is leading the league in passing attempts on offense and blitz rate on defense. Trying to throw since the ground game is non-existent and pressure opposing QB’s since there backend is leaky. A battle for the NFC North basement?
Pick: Bears
Seahawks 3-1 @ Bengals 2-3
Cincy seems to be trending in the right direction with a good Burrow game against the Cards. It took 46 throws and 15 Jamarr Chase catches for 3 Tds to get it done but they’re looking better. The Seahawks have turned a Lions OT win into a 3 game win streak. Coming out of the bye they’re heathier but the O line still has injuries. They’re the better team.
Pick: Seahawks
49ers 5-0 @ Browns 2-2
Cleveland seems to have Watson issues with the QB seemingly not meshing with the organization theories floating around. He’s out, but both offenses could struggle in the projected rain on the forecast. The 49ers will have to survive one of the best defenses in the league on the road in a weather game.
Pick: 49ers
Panthers 0-5 @ Dolphins 4-1
Will the Panther get win #1 on the road against Miami? They showed fight against Detroit but suffered their biggest loss.
Pick: Dolphins
Colts 3-2 @ Jaguars 3-2
The Jags move back home and get a shot a Garner Minshew. He finished out a Titans win strong but Zack Moss carried the team with 165 yards while Tayler took a back seat. I’m not sure the Jags are much better but they did win 31-21 earlier this season in a pretty mistake filled game. I’m going Jags with a top 5 run defense for the season sweep.
Pick: Jaguars
Saints 3-2 @ Texans 2-3
I love CJ Stroud and the Texans ability to pull an upset in any game. They almost beat the Falcons last week. The Saints offense has been horrible. Scoring more than 20 points only once but the defense doesn’t give much and has led them to a 3-2 record. Texans pick won’t be popular because the offense relies entirely on the rookie QB, but I’ll take them at home scoring enough to pull it out.
Pick: Texans
Patriots 1-4 @ Raiders 2-3
Denver, New England, Giants, Panthers, the worst teams in the league. Both by records and performance by my count. A case could be made that the Panthers have as many decent performances (2-Seattle, Vikings) as any of the other teams regardless of final outcome. The Raiders really aren’t far behind but forced 3 turnovers from Love on Monday. I think the Pats can limit the ground game and get after Garoppolo to put themselves in positon to win, but I don’t know where the offense is coming from.
Pick: Raiders
Lions 4-1 @ Buccaneers 3-1
The Lions are dangerous and winning despite injuries across the roster. They don’t really have any starts and still only have an OT loss to Seattle. The Bucs are coming off bye and are much better than some expected. Baker is playing confident and his top receivers are healthy. The defense is playing well. Detroit could caught in a road game trap.
Pick: Buccaneers
Cardinals 1-4 @ Rams 2-3
Two teams expected to struggle have been surprisingly competitive. The Rams have Cooper Kupp and the young skill guys healthy. The Cards have been punched in the mouth the top two weeks and might start to spiral. James Conner is out and maybe Emari Demercado the rookie form TCU will be a great replacement after 4.5 ypc and a touchdown last week but I’m not sure they’re better than the Rams.
Pick: Rams
Eagles 5-0 @ Jets 2-3
The Jets are lingering in games and the Eagles are letting inferior opponents stay in striking distance. The Eagles could be hurting with Jalen Carter out.
Pick: Eagles
Giants 1-4 @ Bills 3-2
No Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor is in. Bills shouldn’t struggle in theory.
Pick: Bills
Cowboys 3-2 @ Chargers 2-2
The Boys will probably have more fans at SoFi than the Chargers. Coming off a bye you’d think the Bolts top 10 offense will be able to hang with the Cowboys. I’m not sure that they’ll be able to stop a Cowboys team that’ll come out with some heat after getting crushed by the 49ers last week.
Pick: Cowboys
