The album releases have been light in the past couple weeks. Miley Cyrus has several standouts on Plastic Hearts. Her raspy, gravely vocals are phenomenal in an array rock/pop/punk. She’s come a long way from generic bubble gum pop music.
Shawn Mendes fourth album Wonder is out following the singles Monster with Justin Bieber and the album’s title track being dropped prior to the albums released. Most of the album is bland and unmoving. It’s a very disappointing album that doesn’t seem to showcase his potential.
H.E.R. has released several singles this year. Damage is the top track with a bit of a throwback 00’s R&B feeling blending with H.E.R staller vocals. It’s a track I have on repeat right now.
No Ceilings 3 hosted by DJ Khaled is the latest Lil Wayne release with features from Drake, Young Thug and a host of other Young Money artists. It’s a fine addition to the NC collection with B.B. King Freestyle, the Drake collaboration, getting the most attention. He always hopes on the hottest instrumentals for his newest mixtape iterations with this being no exceptions so it’s hard to disappoint.
Mokita has been releasing singles this year including I’m Sorry with Stand Atlantic. SA released their second full length album Pink elephant in August and also recorded a cover of the late Juice WRLD’s Righteous. The band led by female front singer Bonnie Fraser is pop/punk and opened for New Found Glory in 2017 on their 20 year reunion tour.
Juicy J released The Hustle Continues, Rico Nasty released Nightmare Vacation, Vedo – For You,DJ Scheme dropped his collaborative album Family, and YFN Lucci released Wish Me Well 3.
