Ripe Records Volume 1 features artist that are currently under the radar and have potential to be big. Some are newer and some have been releasing material for a while. All artists have less than 1 million monthly streams on Spotify.
Singer/songwriter/producers/musician Marcutio (@marcutiomusic) based in Los Angeles, dropped his cover of Drive by Incubus. Original compositions Bury Myself Alive and Hold On were released earlier in 2020.
Loss Angeles Artist R I L E Y (@rileym4a) released his phenomenal debut EP Love Was Never Enough in 2018 and followed up with his debut album Loss Angeles this summer. He’s also dropped a new single Everybody Leaves. He combines strong song writing and unique production to create a unique sound that slides between Pop/R&B.
Adam Oh has released several tracks but Trapped in My Mind and and Pluto with Brendan Pastor. Lil Aaron has written for top artists like Blackbear, Big Boi, Kiiara, and Jeremih. He started releasing his own material several years back and dropped a new EP in 2020. He carries a pop/rock/punk vibe.
Overcast (@overcastaz) is working in the same vein as Lyrical Lemonade. Shooting music videos with underground artists and starting to blow up the music with assistance of the visuals. Zac Greer, Brakence, Koi, Tuxx, Fats’e and Lil Lotus are all young artists that have collaborated with Overcast. Crazy by Zac Greer and Dropout by Brakence are two of my favorite standout tracks. All artists have a pop/hip-hop/emo sound that’s become mainstream.
Mariah the Scientist scored big with a Lil Baby collaboration on Always N Forever in the R&B space. The Atlanta native was first discovered by Tory Lanez. HVN and Ashton Travis are two to watch in the hip-hop scene.
Lauren Sanderson’s new album Midwest Kids Can Make It Big is an excellent project. Her pop/punk sound and snappy vocals create relatable music. Madison Ryan’s voice is gorgeous and her future work is something to keep an eye on.
